Full Version: Unwanted line on gif previews

Hello! Just about to publish our first website and I've the following questions:

1. Some of my gifs (exported from freehand) are appearing with a coloured vertical line after the image. The line isn't present in the originating document, and doesn't appear when I try to amend the file in fireworks. The site isn't live at the moment, but these lines are appearing in Dreamweaver and the Explorer preview.

2. Is there any way to preview a swf file in Dreamweaver, rather than have the grey box? I plan to export flat freehand images into Dreamweaver and this seems to be the only way to do it whilst keeping the original file's quality. The problem is, I can't see the full extent of what I'm placing.

Any assistance would be gratefully received - I've had a look via serch engines and there's not much available to assist...

Cheers

Are ur gif files resized when put in HTML? Check if ur image tags have Size properties. Remove them to test if lines go away.
Did u "save for web" ur gif files? They need to be saved with the "web safe" color palette.

the easiest way to preview swf files is using IE/FX, they'll load in it fine.. as for dreamweaver i dont know, i know in golive i can with adobe... :-?

i'd say preview it in ie/fx, if your code isnt "http://site.swf" and its "/swffiles/mov.swf" and your file is located above the swffiles in your hd then it will load it from your hd... :> its how i preview in firefox i cheat lol..
