Afternoon guys. Could you please tell me whether or not you have a document or tutorial for creating a skin for version 0.84? Most of the elements in the css are relatively self-explanatory, but I've found it difficult to work out what some elements refer to. If you have any kind of graphic or document that I can use to associate parts of the webpage to the elements in the css, that would be really helpful. Cheers.

Hey, You can post the ones you're not too sure about and I'll tell you where in the gallery they're used.
Still, I like your idea. I'll try and write some kind of explanation for the CSS file soon, though probably not within the next few days since things are temporarily a bit busy.

I actually spent a few hours yesterday working out the elements of the css. I may work on some more skins over the coming weeks and, if I do, then I'll try to document them. My gallery can be found at www.shawonline.me.uk/gallery if you want to take a look at the skin, I'm not sure that the colours are quite right yet, but it's the process of altering the css that I was more interested in.

Just another quick note on this topic, and its a request for the next build of Zenith: Could you please create a new css element for the "Powered by" and the Zenith Picture Gallery link at the bottom of the gallery. I have chosen the same colour for my background my plain text and my text-hover; the gallery looks great but the "Powered by" is now invisible and the link to Zenith Picture Gallery disappears when I hover over it. Hope I've explained this OK, if not then visit www.shawonline.me.uk.gallery and choose the "Orange" skin, you'll see what I mean.

Sorry Charly I didn't quite get your question. Do you want to know how to create a new skin?

no
I would like to know if there is average to have its skin "blue".
I know that it is necessary to modify the file css and possibly some images to be made a new skin.
with Golive CS2, it's easy to modify the file.
but it is true that would be well to have the detail corresponding to each class.
I will look at that a little more closely.

Unfortunately I've not had any spare time recently to document the changes that I made to the css. Its all pretty easy to do though, I just used to notepad to make one change at a time then uploaded the file to see how it affected the look of the gallery. It probably took about 4 hours to get something that I was happy with. If you need inspiration for colours then you can visit some design or corporate pages, see the colours they use something like Paint Shop Pro to get the hex codes. My "blue" skin is loosely based on
Captain Cook Cruises. I would recommend only working with 3 colours at a time to start with as it makes the process much easier.

Well, here it is:
http://cyberiapc.com/zenithpg/css_guide_v1/It's just a start, so let me know if you notice something that's missing. There are a few elements that I left out because I'm not sure whether or not they'll be in the next version.

Another thought is to have a way to skin it through Z-Gallery in the Admin CP.
Click a link, it gives you the complete CSS through either an advanced or basic editor.
An advanced CSS editor would be where you see the entire CSS coding, while a basic would just show you all of the different tags that can be changed through a form input to $_POST['$tag_name'] type of scripting into the DB so it is easily changeable.
The later would make it easy for the beginner to skin their site, while more advanced features could do a lot more like edit the templates.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
