Well ! Last time i had thoughts on a game was when i was playing Doom 3, now its time for Hl2.
Ok, i got the collectors edition dvd delivered from gamestop so that i would be playing the game before most people in Bahrain. Which means its around the same time most european players would be playing. Got a t-shirt which is pretty nifty and all , can't wait to wear it at a lan match or something.
Anyway, installed the game which was easy since its one cd. Steam is a bit frustrating , i understand they are worried about piracy but its just too large a delay. Eventually i started up the game .
The loading in the start takes a while but you see a beautiful scene and then you start the game .
The game starts off well , a close up of the G-Man which im sure is to show how good the graphics are.... the game starts off well , i like the music, the atmosphere is just amazing. The guards tell you to walk away ,you see people getting beat up , its really deep. Most of the puzzle so far have been carrying this , putting it there which is probably a way to show off the physics engine !
I like the game , the music is good, the story so far is interesting , the ride in the airboat is a memorable scene which is one of the best vehicles i've ever ridden in a game . I feel like the game is way too focused on showing off its graphics and physics engine than being a game , but i love the atmosphere in the game. For the record, Doom 3 imo had better graphics but the Hl2 graphics are still really good.
The worst thing so far is that after about an hour of playing the game i feel like i will throw up , maybe its been a while since i've played FPS but it didn't happen to me when playing Doom 3. I guess its the airboat , but it helps to take a breat.
