Hi Burebista,
Sorry, I didn't quite understand the question. Are you trying to update a file on a server via FTP without having to download it first?

I wanted to delete some files on my site via FTP using Firefox and I know nothing about the ftp and its commands. But now I downloaded WS_FTP and everything is OK. Thank you for replying!

If you're ever stuck on a PC without a FTP client, you can use Windows' own FTP client (type ftp in the command prompt window).

Why not use IE? You can manage files as easy as exploring ur local folders/files.

OK, I used ftp command, I didn't know it exists. Thanx a lot!
I didn't use Internet Explorer for I could not log in, there was always some error (I suppose because of the proxy server?).

A common problem with IE when logging in FTP is caused by XP firewall. I never tried to configure the Firewall to let me log in but you can disable it temporarily.

i believe you can type ftp://(whatever here) and you can also access files in the URL bar for IE.
